Step inside the creative process of designer and maker Skye Gibson and discover the art of handwoven lighting design. Throughout Geelong Design Week, Skye invites visitors into an open studio residency where they can observe live weaving demonstrations, explore materials and prototypes, and see how handcrafted lighting pieces evolve from concept to completion.

Visitors can also take part in a hands-on workshop to learn the techniques behind the Baya pendant light and create their own woven shade.

Celebrating slow design, craftsmanship and local production, Weaving Light offers a unique opportunity to connect with contemporary design through making, conversation and creative exploration.
