Neighbourhood Score: Drawing Together employs algorithmic thinking, drawing and data visualisation strategies to structure collaborative and participatory experiences. The installation brings together artist collaboration and drawings that invite public participation and co-creation.
Extending the ideas of Neighbourhood Score, the project explores neighbourly relations through proximity, boundaries and reciprocation. These variables act as generative prompts, producing emergent rules, or etiquette in action: how marks and images relate, how close they can be, when they coalesce or disrupt, and how drawing space is shared, divided or contested.
As with human relations, these interactions produce outcomes that are dynamic, precarious, complex and often unpredictable.
Delivered as an unfolding co-created exhibition, the installation enables audience-participants to engage at multiple levels, from observation to brief or extended contribution, with these interactions informing future iterations of the project.
