Explore the design journey behind the Ocean Grove District Ride Centre on a guided walking tour with the World Trail team. Discover how community vision, landscape architecture, engineering and rider-led design came together to create a world-class recreation destination that connects people with nature, movement and adventure.

Hear the stories behind the planning, construction and continual refinement of the trails, and learn how thoughtful design supports skill development, confidence and lifelong participation. Learn how sustainable thinking was embedded throughout the project, including the innovative use of 14,200 tonnes of recycled crushed concrete sourced from the former Alcoa site at Point Henry. Diverted from landfill after extensive safety testing, the material reduced costs, supported the circular economy and created opportunities for local businesses.

Visitors will also discover how the trail surface combines durability, ride quality and environmental performance through the use of Polypave, a hard-wearing, bio-friendly surface that delivers a smooth, fast riding experience while blending naturally with the surrounding landscape.

From ecological restoration and material innovation to world-class trail design, this behind-the-scenes experience reveals how collaboration and sustainable design transformed a local idea into a lasting community legacy.
