This event is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Built Legacies: Education, Architecture and the McGlashan Everist Archive. Hear from practitioners, researchers, students, and community members in a shared conversation about what we can learn by looking back.
Drawing on the landmark donation of the McGlashan Everist archive held by Deakin University Library, speakers will examine how educational and civic projects carry collective memory and shape the everyday experience of learning.
The discussion will draw out transferable lessons from McGlashan Everist’s practice, considering how legacy evidence can inform more resilient, context-responsive approaches to designing places for learning and public life.
The session will also explore how architectural archives can function as practical teaching and research resources, translating built history into future-facing practice.
