How did Cats fandom shift from the 1940s to today’s always‑on digital world?

How has the experience of being a Geelong Cats supporter changed across generations? Join the Geelong Sports Museum exhibition team this Geelong Design Week for a relaxed behind-the-scenes conversation and guided tour of GENERATIONS: Cats Fans. Then. Now. Always.

Through stories, objects and interactive displays, the exhibition explores what it means to be part of the Cats community, from match day rituals down at Kardinia Park to following the team from afar, and from treasured collections of scarves, badges and memorabilia to today’s always-on digital fan culture.

The session begins with a short discussion about the exhibition’s development and design before moving into the gallery for a guided walk through key exhibition elements. Visitors are welcome to stay and explore the museum independently until 7.00pm. Free event, bookings essential.
