Award-winning artist and creative technologist Laura Alice teams up with multi-disciplinary musician Quinn Earthchild to form IO: a shimmering, experimental audio-visual landscape where live programming and plant biosignals meet.
Blending real-time visuals with digital modular synthesis played live through plants, moss, and custom-built cyberdecks, IO transforms living systems into instruments, turning the pulse of a leaf into sound and light. Inspired by science, myth, and Solarpunk, this eco-futurist performance imagines an alternative integration of technology into art, ecology, and living systems, a layered terrain where circuitry and biology are collaborators rather than opposites.
As Laura’s cybernetic worlds play against Quinn’s classical tones, IO builds a narrative of light and dark, exploring the tension of technology’s place in an ecologically minded future, and holding space for what a genuinely eco-forward relationship with tech might look like.
