A new home for designers, ideas and creative exchange in Greater Geelong.
Join us to officially open Design Commons — a new space dedicated to supporting, connecting and celebrating design in Geelong.
Design Commons has been created as a place for designers to come together: to work, experiment, share ideas, build relationships and contribute to a stronger local design culture. It is a space for the design community and a platform for new ideas — bringing together emerging and established designers, creative practitioners, collaborators and the wider Geelong community.
At the launch, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the space, meet the people behind Design Commons, connect with local designers and hear more about what’s planned for this new chapter in Geelong’s design community.
Open EOI: Annual Designer Residencies
The launch also marks the opening of Expressions of Interest for the Design Commons Annual Residency Program, inviting designers based in Greater Geelong to make the space their own for a year.
The annual residencies are designed to support local designers with dedicated space, time and community to develop their practice, test new ideas, undertake research, collaborate and create work. We’re interested in what designers across the region are working on now — and what could happen when they have a place to do it.
Whether you’re developing a new project, exploring an idea, growing your practice or simply looking for a different way to work alongside other designers, the residency program is an opportunity to become part of Design Commons and help shape its future.
Come along, see the space, meet the community and find out how you can be part of Design Commons.
EOIs for the Annual Designer Residencies will open at the event, with further information available on the night.
