Heart Space Creative Studio presents a collaborative group exhibition featuring local artists Britt Silvester, Katia Ksr, Mellissa Eliott and Rebecca Campbell.
This creative collaboration across art and design disciplines by Britt Silvester and Katia Ksr bridges cross-cultural perspectives through a shared passion for sustainable design practices and the coastal environment along the Bellarine Peninsula in South-Western Victoria, traditionally known as the lands of the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation, rich in natural diversity and interconnected worlds.
The exhibition explores the intersection of art and design, with a focus on sustainable materials, place-based practice and our relationship with the coastal environment. Through sculpture, painting and spatial installation, the artists consider how creative practice can respond to, interpret and reimagine the natural world.
Enter into a space of wonder and retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life and busy streets. Explore artworks inspired by the local natural environment and informed by its fragility through evocative sculptural creations by Britt Silvester. Experience meditative moments surrounded by the pastel hues of an expanded painting installation by Katia Ksr.
The project invites audiences to consider our local environment as both fragile and resilient, and how sustainable design can respond to a changing world.
As part of the experience, audiences will have the opportunity to participate in a practical workshop, transforming off-cuts of textiles from the installation into beautiful design accessories through creative thinking and experimental design practices.
Bringing together exhibition, participation and making, the project celebrates local talent and demonstrates how sustainable use and reuse of materials can inspire creativity, innovation and new possibilities in design.
Enjoy your time here!
